I’ve been recognised within the industry for my dedication to client outcomes, including. But my greatest satisfaction comes from the success stories of my clients – from the first home buyer getting their keys, to the investor securing their third property.
Based in Manuka, Canberra, I proudly serve clients across the city, with a special focus on the local community, and am equipped to assist clients anywhere in Australia.

I started Hayes Financial with one simple goal, to make the home buying journey less stressful and more exciting for people like you. Buying your first home is a huge milestone, but I know it can feel overwhelming with so many options, rules, and decisions to make.
My passion for helping first home buyers comes from my own experience. I bought my first home at 19 with just a 5% deposit and no financial help from family. Back then, there were no government schemes or concessions to lean on, it was persistence, planning, and determination. That experience showed me how much of a difference the right advice and support can make, and it’s why I love guiding others through the process today.
With over 10 years in finance and more than 1,000 clients helped, I focus on listening to your goals and tailoring solutions that fit your life, not just the numbers. For me, it’s not just about getting a loan approved – it’s about giving you the confidence and clarity to take your first step into home ownership and start building your future.

I’m Jack and I’m a Mortgage Broker here at Hayes Financial. With over 10 years of experience in customer-facing industries, I’ve always enjoyed working closely with people and finding ways to make their lives easier. That’s what drew me to mortgage broking, helping first home buyers take that big, exciting step into the property market.
I know it can feel overwhelming with so many options, rules, and lending criteria to get through, which is why I focus on making the process simple and easy to understand. When I purchased my first property off the plan, I worked with a broker who wasn’t very supportive, and that experience showed me exactly the kind of broker I never wanted to be. Now, I use that experience to guide and support my clients every step of the way.
For me, the best part of this role is seeing clients turn the dream of owning their first home into a reality, knowing they’ve had the right advice and support behind them the whole way.

I’m Nikola and I’m Matthew’s Executive Assistant here at Hayes Financial. When I first entered the mortgage industry, everything felt new and unfamiliar, just like it often does for most first home buyers starting their journey. That’s why I really understand how overwhelming it can feel, and I make it my priority to keep things simple, clear, and stress-free for our clients.
Since then, I’ve grown a real passion for this industry and I’m currently studying my Cert IV and Diploma in Mortgage Broking so I can better support Matthew and our clients. I love being able to bring a personal touch to every interaction, and I’m always happy to answer any questions, no matter how big or small. For me, it’s about more than just keeping things organised behind the scenes; it’s about making sure you feel supported and comfortable every step of the way.

I’m Joyce I’ve been working alongside Matthew for the past seven years, and with nearly 12 years in the mortgage industry (including five years with one of the big four banks), I’ve built a strong understanding of what it takes to guide clients through their lending journey with confidence.
My role is all about handling the important details that keep everything moving – from preparing and submitting lender applications to finalising documents like your First Home Guarantee application. I work closely with agents, solicitors, and banks behind the scenes so you don’t have to worry about the complex parts of the process.
What I love most is taking that stress away for our clients and helping them feel supported from start to finish. Whether it’s your very first home or your next big move, I take pride in making sure your experience is smooth, simple, and positive every step of the way.

Mikee Baquir
Administration Assistant
I’m Mikee and the Administration Assistant here at Hayes Financial. While I’m still fairly new to the industry, I’ve already found it incredibly rewarding to play such an important role in helping clients achieve their property goals. My main focus is negotiating with the banks on the things that matter most like interest rates and fees.
I especially enjoy working with first home buyers, because I know just how exciting (and sometimes overwhelming) that milestone can be. Having been through the process myself, I understand the emotions, the challenges, and the sense of achievement that comes with purchasing your first home. That experience helps me connect with clients on a personal level and really share in their excitement.
For me, it’s about taking away as much stress as possible and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, so clients can focus on enjoying the journey. I feel grateful every day to be part of such an important chapter in people’s lives and to work alongside a team that’s dedicated to making the dream of home ownership a reality.
